Why turn-based RPGs feel better on a phone than anywhere else
There's a reason turn-based RPGs keep thriving on phones while other genres struggle. You can pause between turns, think, put the phone down, and pick it right back up. That's exactly how most of us actually play on mobile.
Playing Emberfall Saga reminded me of this. A boss fight took me across an entire train ride, and I never once felt like I was fighting the format. The battle waited for me.
If you're new to the genre, my tip is to lean into weaknesses over brute stats. Games in this style almost always reward smart targeting more than raw levels.
Don't sleep on party composition either. A balanced team beats four damage dealers every time once the fights get serious.
